New strain of corona reaches Maharashtra, Chief Minister informs

Mumbai: A new strain of Corona has been found in Britain. It has been reported that this new type has now reached Maharashtra. The symptoms of new corona have been found in 8 travellers from Maharashtra recently returned from Britain. It is being told that 5 passengers from Mumbai, one each from Pune, Thane and Mira-Bhayander are also included in this list. The news is also that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has instructed the administration to be more vigilant in view of new types of symptoms of corona in the returned passengers in the state. Recently the Chief Minister has taken a meeting through video conferencing.

In this meeting, the Chief Minister said, "Central Government will be requested to quarantine passengers coming from other routes from abroad". He has also said, 'Passengers landing in Mumbai from Britain are sent in institutional quarantine as per rules. But in the last few days, it has come to the notice that after landing at the airport of other states, travellers travel within the country to Maharashtra, so it is not possible to keep an eye on them.'

He said, "The central government should quarantine such passengers coming from abroad after landing at their airport". The Chief Minister has also reviewed the preparation for corona vaccination. Recently the state Health Minister Rajesh Tope said, "All the new-born passengers of Corona have been sent to Quarantine. People coming in contact with these passengers are being tracked."
