New Zealand become No. 1 team in ICC Test rankings

New Delhi: New Zealand has achieved a major achievement for the first time in the history of Test cricket, due to which the players of the team are showed great enthusiasm. New Zealand achieved this feat only after winning the 2–0 Test series against Pakistan, while Australia suffered a major setback. The New Zealand cricket team topped the ICC Test rankings for the first time.

New Zealand beat Pakistan by an innings and 176 runs in the second Test match played at the Hegley Oval ground on Wednesday. The New Zealand team captained by Kane Williamson now has 118 points and has reached number one in the rankings. The Australian team is in second place. It has 116 points. India is at number three with 114 points and England at number four with 106 points. South Africa is at number five with 96 points.

The New Zealand team has spent the last few years at No. 2. It has demonstrated its form by beating the West Indies and Pakistan in two consecutive series. It also kept itself in the race for the ICC Test Championship final. However, New Zealand is at No.3 in the championship table.
