The National Investigation Agency conducted raids at seven places in Karnataka on Saturday. The action has been taken during the attacks on DJ Halli and KG Halli police stations of 2020. The investigating agency said the premises of seven absconding criminals have been searched in the case. At the same time, the NIA officer said that two cases were filed in DJ Halli and KG Halli police stations in August last year when people protesting against the alleged derogatory social media posts about Prophet Muhammad turned violent and attacked police stations. The officer said the mob attacked the policemen. The trains were set on fire and government and personal properties in and around two police stations were damaged. The NIA then refiled the cases and filed charge sheets against 109 and 138 criminals respectively in connection with the attacks on two police stations in February. The NIA official said that various objectionable documents and electronic equipment were recovered from the premises of the absconding criminal during the search.
