Nigeria govt opened its official account on indian app Koo after ban on Twitter

Niger: The recent controversy over Twitter and its unilateral ideological freedom have benefited 'Made in India' micro blogging platform Ku (Koo).' More than 5 million users have downloaded Koo from the Google Play Store. Not only that, Koo is now being liked not only in India but also abroad.

 

 

The Government of Nigeria, the African country that recently banned Twitter, has created its account on Koo. This was stated by Koo co-founder and CEO Apramayam Radhakrishna in a tweet. Apramayan tagged his partner and Koo co-founder Mayank and wrote, "Welcome to the official handle of the Nigerian government on Koo India. Now (Koo) is spreading wings outside India also. It was only on Thursday that the Nigerian government created its official (@nigeriagov) account on the Indian microblogging platform Koo. The account has more than 4,700 followers so far.

The Nigerian President had decided to ban the Twitter indefinitely. The African country, based in the Gulf of Guinea, said Twitter was damaging its "corporate existence" and that is why the action was taken. Twitter deleted a statement by President Muhammadu Buhari after which he took the decision.
