New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's response to the ever-increasing prices of petrol and diesel has come out. He said that this is a serious issue, in which no answer can satisfy anyone except reducing the prices. Both the Center and the state should talk to reduce retail fuel prices at the appropriate level for customers. Along with this, Nirmala Sitharaman said, "The production estimates that the OPEC countries have predicted are also likely to come down, which is again raising concern. The government is not in control of the price of oil, it is technically Has been freed. Oil companies import, refine and sell crude oil." The response of the Finance Minister has come at a time when the prices of petrol and diesel in the country are touching the sky. The opposition is an attacker on the central government on this issue. Petrol price touched a high of Rs 97 per liter in Mumbai on Saturday, while diesel prices crossed the Rs 88 level. According to the notification issued by the public sector oil companies, on Saturday, the price of petrol has increased by a record 39 paise and diesel by 37 paise per liter. With this, prices rose for the 12th consecutive day and this is the biggest increase in one day since the oil companies started the daily review of prices in 2017.
