Niti Aayog Meeting: Kerala, Rajasthan CMs will not take part

New Delhi: Pinarayi Vijayan of Kerala and Ashok Gehlot of Rajasthan will not be attending the NITI Aayog Council meeting on Saturday in New Delhi, which will be presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

While CM Vijayan has not provided a precise explanation for his absence, CM Gehlot has claimed health issues as his reason for skipping the meeting.

Arvind Kejriwal of Delhi, Bhagwant Mann of Punjab, K Chandrashekhar Rao of Telangana, Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal, and Nitish Kumar of Bihar are the other chief ministers who are anticipated to boycott the meeting on Saturday.

The eighth Niti Aayog governing council meeting, with the subject "Viksit Bharat @2047: Role of Team India," will be presided over by PM Modi on Saturday at the brand-new Convention Centre in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. As the chairman of NITI Aayog, Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi will preside over the meeting. In order to make India a developed country by 2047, PM Modi will discuss topics connected to health, skill development, women's empowerment, and infrastructure development.

Eight major topics, including (i) Viksit Bharat@2047, (ii) Thrust on MSMEs, (iii) Infrastructure and Investments, (iv) Minimising Compliances, (v) Women Empowerment, (vi) Health and Nutrition, (vii) Skill Development, and (viii) Gati Shakti for area development and social infrastructure, will be covered during the day-long meeting, according to the NITI Aayog.

The Vice Chairman and Members of NITI Aayog, as well as the Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors of all States and Union Territories, will participate in the meeting as ex-officio members.
