University of Delhi: There will not be entrance test for new course

There can be no entrance exam in any new course for admission to the Undergraduate level (UG) in the academic session 2020-21 at Delhi University. The entrance test for 10 courses of UG will be taken in collaboration with National Testing Agency (NTA) just like last year. This time, there were speculations that admission in all UG courses could be done on the basis of the entrance examination. Putting an end to these speculations, the administration has decided not to conduct the entrance examination for any new course.

Dr. Pankaj Arora, Dean of DU Admission Branch said that it has been decided that entrance examination will not be taken for any new course. The courses for which the entrance examination has been held so far will be in it. He said that frequent meetings are being held to consider other things related to admission. Other proposals related to admission will be approved soon. NTA will conduct entrance examinations only. The courses for which entrance examination was conducted last year.

Among this are Bachelor of Management Studies, Bachelor of Business Administration (FAI), BA Honors Business Economics, BTech (IT&M), BA Honors Humanities and Social Sciences, Bachelor of Elementary Education, BSc in Physical Education (Health Education and Sports), BA Honors MMC, BA Honors Music, and a 5-year journalism program are included. DU sought online suggestions regarding admission. The first suggestion date was 5 January which was extended to 31 January. Dr. Arora said that the suggestions received are being analyzed now. Whether or not it is included in the admission process will also be discussed.
