Imphal: Security agencies have started taking strong action regarding the ongoing violence in the north-eastern state of Manipur, after which the situation has started to come under control. The latest news is that 33 terrorists who were killing people in Manipur have been killed by security agencies. This is being done to calm the atmosphere of violence in the state. After a meeting with Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, CM N Biren Singh gave information about this while addressing the media in the capital Imphal. According to the report, he has told that the terrorists who have been killed belonged to the banned organizations (Suspension of Operations). Along with this, he also informed that a massive search operation is being conducted across the state to catch those who attack common citizens. The terrorists have also fired on the security forces, which was retaliated. "I humbly request the people of the state to have faith in the efforts being made by the central and state governments to normalise the atmosphere." The Chief Minister has assured that the territorial integrity of Manipur will be protected at all costs. The search operation is being carried out by the Assam Rifles and Indian Army personnel in Kangchuk, Motabung, Saikul, Pukhao and Sagolmang areas. The operation was launched in the early hours of Saturday (May 27, 2023) in search of the terrorists involved in the violence. The Indian Army is also using technology to search in hilly and forested areas. In this episode, there was a meeting between CM Biren Singh and Army Chief General Manoj Pandey for about an hour on Sunday (May 28). A day earlier, General Pandey, along with Indian Army's Eastern Command chief Lt Gen RP Kalita, met Governor Anusuiya Uikey and briefed him about the situation. The Army Chief himself is monitoring the situation by landing on the ground. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to reach Manipur on May 29. He assured justice to the victims of the violence and said that not a single rioter will be spared.
