Now Tejashwi condemns Centres' Agnipath scheme

PATNA: As Army aspirants' demonstrations against the Centre's Agnipath plan entered their second day in Bihar, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav stated on Thursday that the Centre had implemented the MGNREGA scheme in the armed forces.

"The Narendra Modi government has promised 80 million jobs to the country's young by 2022. After a long period of time, this government has decided to recruit for the defence forces on a contract basis. This is an MGNREGA-style plan that has been implemented in the defence forces. This is the dismal result of a government's promises made after sweeping victories in past elections "Tejashwi made the announcement on his official Twitter account. He also posted a news article about Prime Minister Modi's commitment to creating 80 million jobs by 2022.

The BJP's state spokesperson, Arvind Kumar Singh, said: "The government of Narendra Modi has made a historic step by launching the Agnipath scheme in the country. It will give the defence forces a boost and make beneficial reforms to strengthen them. The youth will be paid well and receive extensive training. They will receive certifications at the end of their four-year term that will assist them in finding new occupations in the future." Meanwhile, protests against the center's Agnipath scheme continue for the second day in numerous Bihar districts.

Protesters blocked the main train route between Patna and New Delhi in the districts of Buxar and Bhojpur. The enraged students gathered in huge numbers at the Arrah and Buxar railway stations, causing damage to the infrastructure.
