Mumbaikars have a double attack on inflation due to persistent rising prices of petrol and diesel across the country. The possibility of increasing taxi and auto fares in Mumbai has increased even faster since March 1. The minimum fare for auto and taxi will be Rs 3 and the minimum fare for auto will be between 18 and 21 rupees and the minimum fare for black-yellow taxi has been increased from 22 to 25. According to the information, the Mumbai Taxi Union has seen a demand for fare hike amid rising prices of petrol and diesel. It has now been stamped by the State Transport Ministry. In Mumbai, for every kilometre first, you had to pay 12 rupees 19 paise for auto, now you have to pay 14 rupees 19 paise. Whereas, for black-yellow cabs, earlier Rs 14 and 84 paise per km had to be paid which is now Rs. 16 rupees 93 paise.
