Odisha CM approves metro rail project connecting Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Puri, Khurda

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced the metro train project connecting Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Puri and Khurda on Saturday, April 1

The CM said, "I am happy to announce the metro train project connecting Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda and Puri . The project has been evaluated by various stakeholders and feasibility reports prepared." In the first phase we will create the metro trunk route from Trisulia near Cuttack to Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar.

The path will ostensibly pass through main sights like Nandankanan, Patia, Vani Vihar, the railway station, and others. The project will make it possible for commuters from CTC to visit key Bhubaneswar areas because it begins close to Subash Bose Setu. The metro will eventually reach Khurda and Puri.

He said that the project, which will be wholly funded by the state government, will be based mostly on elevated corridors.

"We have always worked to push the envelope and enhance the quality of life for our people. And today, with the introduction of this new project, we are moving one step closer to creating a New Odisha that will offer the state's residents top-notch urban services.

With state-of-art amenities, it will not only provide top-notch, environmentally friendly urban transportation for a developing and aspirational Odisha, but it will also stimulate economic activity and quicken the growth of our urban city cluster, which includes Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, and Khurda. New levels of population, investment, trade, and tourism will be attracted by the creation of a modern, planned city cluster. Using the 5T principles, this initiative will be genuinely transformative, he said.
