BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the food processing segment is one of the most key sectors which can become a powerful driver of the growth story of Odisha. After launching the Odisha FoodPro 2022, a special collaboration of financiers, manufacturers, producers, food processors, startups, policymakers, and organisations from throughout the Indian food ecosystem, Patnaik made this statement. He added that Odisha, which is naturally blessed with a vast geographic, climatic, and crop diversity, presents a unique opportunity for exploring its potential for inclusive and exemplary economic growth, that the food processing sector has tremendous potential for reducing post-harvest crop loss, adding value, and enhancing farmers' income. Patnaik, who joined the event via a virtual platform, urged everyone to cooperate in making Odisha a preferred location for investment in the food processing sector. The event was conceptualised to give investors an understanding of the state's investment environment in the food processing industry and also to give micro and small food processing businesses exposure to fresh financing options and technological advancements, the chief minister said.
