Bhubaneswar: In yet another achievement for Odisha State in the ongoing fight against coronavirus, the State has now emerged at top as far as the nation-wide vaccination is concerned. Health and Family Welfare Director, Bijay Panigrahi on Friday said that Odisha remains at top spot in COVID-19 vaccination in the country “Health workers who had earlier refused to take vaccines resumed taking the jabs from yesterday. Till 28 January, 1,94,058 beneficiaries were inoculated in the State while 1,44,642 are due for the shots,” said Panigrahi According to Panigrahi, the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination drive will remain suspended for a period of three days from January 31 to February 2 in view of Pulse Polio immunisation programme. Administration of first doses of vaccine will be completed by February 10 in Odisha, Panigrahi added. “Odisha has emerged as the leading state in #COVID19Vaccination coverage of healthcare workers. With 50.7% vaccination coverage until 28th January, Odisha has topped the list of big states,” tweeted Chief Medical Officer..
