BHUBANESWAR: Odisha government accepted six investment proposals totaling Rs 493.62 crore on Friday, resulting in the creation of 1,317 jobs, Officials said. The investment projects were cleared by the state-level single window clearing authority (SLSWCA), which is led by Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra. The state has accepted Jatia Steel Ltd's plan to invest Rs 125 crore in a 2.50 lakh MT TMT rebar and 2.50 lakh MT wire rod facility in Kalinga Nagar, Jajpur district. The government also authorised another request from JRS Ventures Pvt Ltd to build an ethanol plant and a power plant in Sonepur for a total investment of Rs 121 crore. The SLSWCA also accepted SNM Hotels and Resorts Pvt Ltd's request to build a hotel and resort facility at Somolo Island in Ganjam district at a cost of Rs 80.25 crore. The Chief Secretary ordered the tourism department to design a master plan for tourism development in Chilika Lake, including possible islands such as Solomo.
