BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said on Monday that the Odisha government is working hard to ensure the safe return of students and other people trapped in Ukraine's war-torn country. Officials say that while seven students from Ukraine have arrived in New Delhi, over 500 students from Odisha remain stranded. Through video conferencing, the Chief Minister interacted with Ukraine returnees. Patnaik greeted the students upon their return to India, saying, "We are overjoyed. We're also striving to get other students from Odisha back to us as quickly as possible." The students informed the CM about their flight from the war-torn country and begged that he arrange for the safe evacuation of other Odia students who were trapped in a dangerous position in the Kharkiv region. "The majority of Odia students are trapped in Kharkiv, which has now devolved into a war zone," a returnee told the Chief Minister. "We're doing everything we can to get them back to India as soon as possible. I've already spoken with the Home Minister and the Foreign Minister about assisting us as quickly as feasible. I'll contact them again "Patnaik is confident. Six flights from Budapest departs with 240 Indians under 'Operation Ganga'.
