Bhuvneshwar: In Bhubaneswar, Odisha, a man has been detained by the police for allegedly attacking his wife with a knife in her office near the Baramunda bus stand. The incident occurred on Monday due to an ongoing family dispute. The man, employed at a private company, is expected to be arrested after the completion of the investigation. According to witnesses, the man entered the office on Monday afternoon, verbally abused his wife, and then attacked her with a sharp knife. Colleagues attempted to intervene and protect the woman, but the assailant brandished the weapon, creating a terrorizing situation. The woman, running inside the office to escape, sustained minor injuries. Police responded to the incident after receiving information and promptly shifted the injured woman to a nearby hospital. Preliminary investigations revealed that the couple had frequent verbal arguments over personal issues, and they had not been living together for several months. The man allegedly suspected his wife of having an extramarital affair. This incident follows a recent case in Bengaluru, where a 40-year-old man set his wife on fire, suspecting her fidelity. The woman suffered 30 percent burn injuries on her face and chest, and she is currently undergoing treatment in a private hospital. The accused has been arrested, and an investigation is underway.
