Okinawa sold many electric scooters, report presented in the market

Renowned automaker Okinawa has announced to sell more than 1000 electric scooters within a month, as the brand has resumed operations after the government relaxed the rules of economic activity. The brand achieved this sales number from 60–70% of touch points operating out of more than 350 dealers across India. The company resumed the dealership partially on May 11, 2020, with a 25 percent workforce and strict security measures in place, keeping the covid-19 under control. Okinawa has already sold more than 1200 vehicles in the first month after a strict lockdown.

For your information, let us tell you that amid the spread of covid-19, the company had issued an advisory to its dealership network to maintain safety measures regarding the commencement of operations. The brand is taking all necessary precautions to protect its stakeholders. All products are sterilized before being sent from assembly to the manufacturing unit and the dealer associates sterilize after receiving the products at the dealership. According to the advice issued by the company, a proper thermal screening is done at all Okinawa dealerships to ensure the safety of customers and dealers.

In the current difficult times, while not all dealerships are fully operational, Okinawa has achieved a significant milestone in retailing 1000 electric vehicles, highlighting the growing demand for EVs among users. Okinawa topped the charts in sales of high-speed electric scooters in India in FY 2020 and is the only EV company to cross the 10,000 mark in India.
