'Grabbed a blanket and ran', tweets Omar Abdullah after earthquake in North India

New Delhi: The entire north India including Delhi-NCR trembled due to the earthquake at 10:34 pm on Friday night. The magnitude of the earthquake was 6.3 on the Richter scale. The epicentre of the earthquake was located about 90 kilometres below ground in Tajikistan. The earthquake caused panic among the people and they came out of the houses due to fear.

When the earth was shaking due to the earthquake, the scared people were standing outside their homes. During the earthquake, former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi was talking to the students of the University of Chicago through video conferencing from New Delhi. As soon as the earthquake tremors, Rahul was heard saying that his entire room was shaking. Its video is also going viral on Twitter.

On the other hand, National Conference leader and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah tweeted, "After the earthquake in 2005 Srinagar forced me to move out of the house. I grabbed a blanket and ran out of the house. During this time I did not even remember to take my phone, so could not tweet 'earthquake' when the ground was shaking. ''
