As you all may know, in the 2016 assembly elections of West Bengal, BJP got less than 5 and a half percent votes in Nandigram's seat. Of these, BJP candidate Bijan Kumar Das had got only 10 thousand 713 votes, but in the year 2016, Suvdendu Adhikari had won this seat in this election. During that time he defeated his nearest rival Abdul Kabir Sheikh of CPI by 81 thousand 230 votes. In fact, Suvdendu Adhikari had secured 67.2 percent votes with 1 lakh 34 thousand 623 votes, while Abdul Kabir Sheikh received only 53 thousand 393 votes.
