Mumbai: A few hours after Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced a 15-day curfew in the state, senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis said that the state government should exempt electricity bills, property tax, and GST.

Former Chief Minister Fadnavis tweeted, "It seems that the state government is not going to get any exemption in electricity bills, property tax or GST. Similarly, no financial assistance has been announced for salon operators, small businessmen, flower sellers, etc. These are important manpower who will not have the means to earn". He also said "The state government should urgently use a reserve fund of Rs 3,300 crore to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Which should be used for more bed arrangements and purchase of medical equipment''.

It has been learned that 60,212 new cases of covid virus infection have been heard in Maharashtra on Tuesday, and 281 people have lost their lives. At the same time, considering the situation, the state government has announced a state-wide curfew for 15 days from 8 pm on April 14. The state Health Ministry said that with the arrival of new cases, the total number of people infected so far in the state has increased to 35,19,208, while the total so far is 58, 526 people have died from the epidemic. According to the information received, CM Uddhav Thackeray-led Mahavikas Aghadi government had announced a 15-day statewide curfew on Tuesday from April 14 in view of the increase in infection cases in a worrying manner. He said that he is urging PM Narendra Modi that he is going to send military aircraft to supply oxygen from West Bengal or from northeastern states to meet the demand for oxygen in Maharashtra.
