Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur, an FIR has been registered against 1700 people for offering Namaz by blocking the road on the day of Eid. These FIRs have been registered in three different police stations – Jajmau, Babupurwa and Bajaria. According to media reports, a case has been registered against 1500 Namazis in Bajaria police station, while FIR has been registered against 200 to 300 people in Jajmau and 40 to 50 people in Babupurwa. Police says that the Peace Committee had already decided to offer Namaz that on the day of Eid it would be read only inside the Idgah and the mosque. If any worshiper is left behind due to overcrowding, the police will make arrangements to get him to offer Namaz again. Now, despite the decision taken in this peace meeting and the imposition of Section 144 in the areas, on the day of Eid, suddenly a crowd of thousands gathered in front of the Idgah and despite being stopped by the police, these people started offering Namaz sitting on the road. The police have started their investigation by registering a case under serious sections against those who indulged in this type of arbitrariness and against the members of the Idgah. CCTV footage is being sought to identify those who disobeyed the decision. It is seen in the videos that there was no space even to set foot in Benajhabar Idgah that day. Let us tell you that the Babupurwa police has registered an FIR against the worshipers under sections 186, 188, 283, 341, and 353. After these FIRs, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has expressed its displeasure. Board member Dr. Suleman said that the police is targeting a community. It seems that this country has become of one religion. On that day Namaz was offered inside Idgah and mosques. Due to less space in Babupurwa only, people came out for 10 minutes. In such a situation, the police registered an FIR against them. Dr. Suleman got angry with these FIRs and said that the Yogi government has torn apart the Constitution.
