Wellington: As New Zealand prepared to host matches in the FIFA Women's World Cup soccer tournament, a shooter killed two people before taking his own life at an Auckland construction site on Thursday, according to authorities. Multiple injuries were reported by police following the incident, which happened close to the hotel where Team Norway was staying. Around 7:20 a.m., according to acting police superintendent Sunny Patel, the man started shooting at the location on lower Queen Street. Streets were blocked off and police descended in force.
