The 80th Golden Globes Awards were announced and it is a proud moment of India as Telugu title RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli won the Best Song award for Naatu Naatu. SS Rajamouli appeared in a popular talk show in USA. The veteran director expresses his happiness on the love his film got even in other countries. RRR director SS Rajamouli expressing his happiness said, "Exciting is an understatement. We are on top of the world. I essentially make films for Indians in India and across the globe. When we started getting appreciation from the west, our initial thought was that, ‘These guys must be the friends of our Indians who went to watch the film’." He further added, "Then as it started increasing when celebrities, story writers, film directors started tweeting about it, talking about it on social media. They started championing the film by word of mouth. We thought, ‘Okay, this is growing much more'. Then it was released on Netflix and it was on the top 10 list for 15 consecutive weeks. It was released in Japan, it's still running in Japan. It is the highest-grossing Indian film ever in Japan. Oh my God,". Speaking of RRR, it is a fictional story set in the 1920s pre-independent era and is based on the lives of two real heroes and well-known revolutionaries – Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. While Ram Charan played Ram, NTR was seen as Bheem. The film has grossed over Rs. 1200 crore worldwide during its theatrical run.
