Onion prices will increase soon due to lack of supply

New Delhi: Once in the national capital Delhi, onion prices will see a surge. Once again, onion can disappear from the plate of the common man. In Ghazipur mandi, onion has become expensive due to an increase in the wholesale price of onion. An onion trader said, "Now onion is being sold for 30-40 rupees a kg, then it will be sold in the market for 50-60 rupees a kilo. Onions are coming down from Maharashtra so it is expensive.'

The potato prices are also on the rise, although the wholesale price of potato has been recorded to fall. The potato which is being sold for just 6 to 7 rupees per kg in Azadpur mandi, it is going to reach 20 rupees per kilo in the retail market. Due to an increasing price of vegetable, the burden on the common man's pocket is increasing. The impact of onion inflation has not only started appearing in homes, but almost all the onions have gone away from the food sold at hotels, dhabas, and street vendors in Delhi.

Regarding the continuous increase in the prices of vegetables, wholesale traders said that after the new shipment of onions, prices may be seen to fall slightly. One reason of onion inflation is the corona epidemic, and the second farmer movement, due to which the supply of onion could not be done at a certain time. However, some time ago it was being said that a large number of onion consignments from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Bengal have started coming to Delhi. Vendors said that onions are coming down from Maharashtra, due to which the prices have increased.
