Bhubaneswar: The gross negligence of a health worker in Odisha has come to light. A 51-year-old man has alleged that he was administered both doses of the vaccine within a five minute. The case is said to be from Khuntapura village, which falls under Betnoti block of Mayurbhanj district. The man's name is Prasanna Kumar Shahu, a resident of Bachuripara village. Prasanna reportedly went to the nearest vaccination centre to take the first dose of corona vaccine. After the first dose, the nurse asked them to wait for 30 minutes. He was sitting at the vaccination centre when the nurse returned five minutes later and administered him a second dose of the vaccine. When Prasanna told other health workers at the vaccination centre that he had been given a both doses of vaccine within five minutes, the health workers asked him to stay for two hours and then asked him to give him a drink ORS. Prasanna says they asked no one to mention the incident of both doses of the vaccine and asked them to go to the local government hospital if there was a side effect. However, Prasanna briefed the local media and people around him about the incident. The supervisor of the vaccination centre admitted the mistake and blamed it on the nurse. Mayurbhanj collector Vineet Bhardwaj said we have conducted an inquiry and the allegation is baseless. Bhardwaj also said that the man has given written consent denying the allegations.
