Bhubaneswar: Odisha students have secured the third position in the NASA Rover Challenge 2021. Students have won the award, beating 70 teams from across the world. The student prepared this rover by training in 6 months. According to the Rover's team, the rover is designed for the Moon mission where the first lady and the next man will be sent. The rover is able to fly on different types of Marshon Terins.
According to the report, the team has worked incredibly hard for six months during the coronavirus lockdown on the project. The rover has been crafted with the maximum effort of perfection and was named NaPSAT 1.0. NaPSAT is an initiative of the Bhubaneswar-based Innovation Dissemination Foundation. Recently, the US space agency NASA has awarded awards to three Indian teams in its annual Human Exploration Rover Challenge. Under this challenge, high school and college students are invited to build and test roving vehicles for future expeditions on the moon and Mars.
In Maharashtra, Mumbai's Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering was awarded the Frank Joe Sexton Memorial Pit Crew Award. At the same time, a team from Lovely Professional University in Phagwara, Punjab, received the Stem Engagement Award on rocket and other space related subjects.
