Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the authority behind the Oscar awards is trying hard to be perfect and full of diversity so there will not be any kind of mistake or controversies. Notably, Oscar authority was in controversy while 2016?s Oscar where it was claimed that the second year in a row, every single acting nominee was white. The drama was enlarged at the level of a boycott of that year's Academy Awards by many celebrities and #OscarsSoWhite became the trend. So, to correct itself the academy has sent an invitation to many celebrities for being a member of the same from 59 countries in order to maintain impartiality in the award nominations. Notably, the same invitation was also released previously where Indian celebrities were in high demand. This time also India scored for 20 celebrities who received the invitation. The list contains the name of famous faces like Shah Rukh Khan, Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Ali Fazal, Bengali actors Soumitra Chatterjee (Bridge) and Madhabi Mukherjee (Charulata). Apart from actors other professional also made their place in list like the director-producer-actor Aditya Chopra and producer Guneet Monga, Cinematographer Anil Mehta(Rockstar), designers Dolly Ahluwalia and Manish Malhotra, Subrata Chakraborty and Amit Ray who got fame from Haider, editor Ballu Saluja(Dangal), musicians Usha Khanna and Sneha Khanwalkar(Gangs of Wasseypur). Notably, our talented actors Irrfan Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan are also the part of Oscar?s team. From music world the obvious name AR Rahman, the Oscar-winner is also there. The Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment case and #MeToo and Time's Up movements have also motivated the academy to maintain gender equality due to which 49% of its invitees are female.
