PRAYAGRAJ- Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 - The 45-day Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on January 13, has been witnessing an unprecedented gathering of pilgrims at the Sangam -- the sacred meeting point of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers. According to an official report, over seven crore devotees took a holy dip at the Sangam between January 11 and January 16 during this grand spiritual event. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "In this magnificent celebration of faith, unity, and harmony..Maha Kumbh 2025, Prayagraj..More than 30 lakh devotees took a holy dip today, while the total number of pilgrims so far has crossed 7 crore. Heartfelt congratulations to the revered saints, 10 lakh Kalpavasis, and 20 lakh devotees who have been blessed by bathing in the sacred waters of the Sangam! May Maa Ganga fulfill everyone’s wishes." — Yogi Adityanath (@myogiadityanath) January 16, 2025 On Thursday alone, more than 30 lakh devotees bathed in the holy confluence, contributing to this remarkable turnout. The state government had previously estimated that over 45 crore people would participate in the Maha Kumbh Mela this year. The early count of seven crore pilgrims in the first few days supports the likelihood of this projection becoming a reality. Devotees from across India and abroad have been gathering at the Sangam to immerse themselves in the spiritual ambiance, seeking divine blessings and inner peace. Breaking down the numbers, around 45 lakh pilgrims bathed on January 11, while the number rose to 65 lakh on January 12. In the first two days alone, over 5.2 crore devotees participated in this sacred ritual. The trend continued with 1.7 crore taking a holy dip on January 13, and the figure doubling to 3.5 crore on January 14.
