Jaipur: What is even more appalling is that reports by sections of the media suggest that the assailants even forced the woman to drink acid resulting in her death. In a shocking turn of events, miscreants attacked a woman in Rajasthan with acid allegedly over a land dispute. The incident took place in Lambi Doongri hamlet of Jolana village in Rajasthan's Banswara district. The village falls under the limits of the Arthuna police station. It was told by Family members of the 45-year-old woman to police officials that she was milking her cow in her courtyard when her neighbor Kishan along with two accomplices barged into her residence and forced her to drink acid. They also poured acid on her, they added. Upon learning about the incident, the victim's kin rushed her to a hospital where she succumbed to injuries. A case was then registered with the Arthuna police station. In their complaint, family members of the victim alleged that the accused and the woman were engaged in a land dispute. They even claimed that the accused thrashed the woman about six months. A similar matter had come to light from Bhagalpur district of Bihar in April of last year when a woman was forced to drink acid by her in-laws allegedly after she failed to fulfil their demands for dowry.
