West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s speech at Oxford Union Debate cancelled

Kolkata: The West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee's Oxford Union Debating Society program was cancelled at the last moment. The Bengal Ministry of Home Affairs has given information about this. Banerjee was to address Oxford Union's debating society this afternoon. GoWB says that the organizers have spoken of abruptly cancelling the program and rescheduling the program.

It is noteworthy that Oxford Union was going to address the debate today at around 2.30 pm. She was to become the first Indian woman leader and administrative head to address this forum, but the program was cancelled. On giving information about this, the Home Department said that the Honorable West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee was to address the Oxford Union Debating Society this afternoon, the organizers demanded to postpone and reschedule the program at the last moment.

Bengal Home Department said that citing some unexpected problems, the organizers have talked about cancelling the program by telephone. The program with Oxford Union has been cancelled today. The Oxford Union Society, commonly known as the Oxford Union, is a debating society in the city of Oxford, England, whose membership is primarily drawn from Oxford University.
