P Chidambaram furious over statement of Army Chief, says, It is not your job to tell us….

Thiruvananthapuram: While there are protests in many parts of the country regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act, the opposition is leaving no stone unturned to surround the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Senior Congress leader and former Home Minister P Chidambaram have attacked the BJP in Thiruvananthapuram over the Citizenship Act.

Chidambaram has said, "Home Minister Amit Shah should listen carefully to the debate in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, he did not answer a single question and now he is challenging Rahul Gandhi to debate it. Whatever is being told by the government in relation to this law, everything is wrong". Chidambaram further said that, DGP and Army General are being asked to support the government, it is a shame. We appeal to General Rawat, you are the army chief, take care of the dignity of your post.

Mamta Banerjee says , "As long as I am alive, citizenship law will not be applicable in Bengal".

Chidambaram further said that it is not the job of the army to tell politicians what we should do, because it is not our job to tell you how to fight. Army Chief Bipin Rawat said on Thursday that leaders emerge from the public, if a leader incites universities and college students and people to incite arson and violence, then he cannot lead. The leader is the one who takes public in the right direction.
