06 May 2016:As per the police, eight Taliban militants have been murdered amid a raid by law enforcement agencies at their hideaway in Pakistan's Punjab province today. The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab police said, “it had received information about the presence of some 12 militants in Hoaki village of Sheikhupura district, some 50 kilometers from Lahore”
"The police force surrounded the house and asked the militants to surrender. They instead started firing at the police team. Police personnel returned the fire and as a result eight terrorists were killed and four managed to escape," CTD added
Four Kalashnikov, detonators, pistols, some six kilogrammes of volatile substantial and six motorcycles have been held from their hideout. The CTD said , “the militants belonged to the Tahreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and they were planning to attack the officials of law-enforcement agencies in the province.”
