At least 20 Killed as Train Hits Bus at Unmanned Railway Crossing in Pak's Sindh

Islamabad: A horrific collision between a speeding train and a passenger bus killed at least 20 people and left injured to many. According to the report of Pakistani newspaper The Dawn, at least 20 people have died in this accident, while more than a dozen people are said to be injured, whose treatment is being done in the local hospital.

According to local police, the death toll may increase as the condition of many of the injured is extremely critical. According to the report, 45 Up Pakistan Express was going from Karachi towards Rawalpindi. The accident occurred in Rohri area of Sukkur district when a bus going from Karachi to Sargodha was trying to cross the open unmanned railway crossing. The bus collided strongly with the Pakistan Express train coming at high speed.

Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah took cognizance of the matter and ordered the Sukkur commissioner to send the rescue teams to the area. According to police, "It was a very tragic accident. The bus broke into three pieces." The police have also said that the collision was so frightening that the bus slid by 150-200 feet in the grip of the train.
