ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan, Pakistan's prime minister, has stated that his government is committed to growing exports in order to boost the country's economy. Khan said on Tuesday at the inaugural ceremony of the 14th International Chambers Summit 2022 organised by the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Islamabad that exports are one of the major sectors for wealth creation and can act as the most important driving agent to boost the national economy. According to state media reports, he stated that the incumbent government has been working tirelessly to remove obstacles and bottlenecks experienced by exporters, investors, and businesses in order to boost the country's export industry. All required facilities and services would be supplied for the establishment of industrial zones, as well as land at cheap costs for the establishment of economic zones. Khan went on to say that Pakistan has never experienced such significant obstacles as the Covid-19 outbreak, and that it is worth noting how quickly the country recovered. He stated that friendly countries such as China had helped the country navigate through the difficult times.
