Sikh Girl Forcibly Converted to Islam in Pakistan Sent Back to Parents, 8 Arrested

Islamabad: After the pressure of India, Pakistan took action in  the case where a Sikh priest’s daughter was allegedly abducted and converted to Islam.  Pakistan has arrested 8 people in the case. The victim has been handed over to her family. Since the incident, Pakistan has been facing the ire of India, including the Sikh community.

The government of Pakistan's Punjab province has issued an inquiry into the case of conversion of a Sikh girl in Pakistan. A three-member high-level committee has been set up for the purpose. Governor of Punjab of Pakistan meets family members of the victim in Lahore.  In Pakistan, the Imran government has been outraged over the abduction of a Sikh girl.

Members of the Pakistan Sikh Council say on one is safe in Pakistan. In India, there has also been a voice in India against the atrocities on a Sikh girl. Protests are taking place against Pakistan at various places in the country. In Pakistan, the case of forced conversion of Hindu girls to Sikh girl to Islam has come to light, after which the Imran government is seen in the backfoot.
