Pakistan again violates ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar: Pakistan has once again breached a ceasefire on the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district. The Pakistani Army suddenly started firing from across the border in violation of the ceasefire in two sectors of the district. The Indian Army has also given a befitting reply to this nefarious act of crossing the border. The army is fully alert.

In relation to today's incident, the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense, Col. Devendra Anand, told the media, "At about 10 o'clock this morning Pakistan fired small arms at LOC in Dagwar and town sectors of Poonch district without any provocation and launched a ceasefire violation by firing shells from the mortar, to which the Indian Army is repulsed."

Earlier on Monday night also, Pakistani army violated the ceasefire in the Mendhar sector of Poonch district. Suddenly heavy firing started in the Mendhar sector from across the border at 10 o'clock, which was responded to by the army personnel. Firing from across the border stopped shortly after the action of the Indian Army. So far this year, Pak Army has violated ceasefire 2,711 times.
