Pakistani singer wins first Grammy Award, expresses happiness

Pakistani singer Arooj Aftab has created history at the 64th Grammy Awards. Arooj has become the first Pakistani actress to win a Grammy Award. Arooj Aftab has been awarded for the Best Global Music Performance category for her song Mohabbat. 

Arooj won her first Grammy: Grammy, one of Hollywood's most prestigious music awards. Arooj Aftab was also nominated in the Best New Artist category. The Grammys tweeted from their official Twitter handle and shared the news with everyone and wrote, "Arooj Aftab's song 'Mohabbat' has won the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Performance 2022. Aftab is the first Pakistani woman to win a Grammy Award. She is also nominated in the Best New Artist category."

After winning the award, Arooj Aftab expressed her happiness and said, "I think I will faint. Wow, thank you so much. I think the category itself will go very crazy. It also includes names like Barna Boy, Wisquid, Femi Kuti and Angelique Kidzo." Continuing her talk, she said, "I made it (my record) about all the things that broke me and later added to me completely. Thank you for listening to it and making it your own." 

 

 

Mahira Khan expresses happiness: Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has expressed happiness over Aftab winning the Grammy Award. Mahira also tweeted her best wishes to Arooj. She wrote, "Very proud of you." Along with Mahira Khan, Pakistani singer Ali Sethi has also congratulated Arooj.
