Former Pakistani player Afridi won hearts with brilliant innings

Former Pakistan veteran Shahid Afridi has surprised people by scoring a century from 37 balls. It was the fastest ODI century at that time. Afridi had recorded this name for almost 18 years. By the way, the record of scoring the most centuries in ODI cricket is recorded in the name of AB de Villiers. He scored a century off 31 balls in 2015.

Afridi, batting fiercely against Sri Lanka in 40 balls, played an innings with 104 runs, but few people would be aware that the innings he played was famous all over the world, that innings he played great batsman of India Sachin. It was played with Tendulkar's bat. But Sachin had gifted his bat to Waqar Younis. Azhar Mahmood, who played with Afridi, says that Afridi became a complete batsman after this innings. But before that he was counted in minor bowlers.

Mahmood said some time ago that Afridi made his debut in Nairobi in 1996. I also made my debut in the same match. Mushtaq Ahmed was injured in that series and Mushtaq was replaced. Mahmood had said that Sri Lankan opener Sanath Jayasuriya and wicket-keeper Kulvitharan were said to be very aggressive in those days. For this reason we needed an aggressive batsman at number three. Wasim Akram told me and Afridi to practice on the nets.
