Corona and Omicron panic in Bengal, cases of new variants rose

Kolkata: Corona cases are on the rise after the Christmas rush in West Bengal. Meanwhile, corona's new variant Omicron has also started scaring people. According to data released by the Health Department, the number of Omicron infected people in Bengal has increased from 6 to 11. At the same time, the number of corona infected people is also continuously increasing. At the same time, the increase in positivity rates has also become a matter of concern.

According to data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Kolkata's covid positivity rate has been recorded at 6.96%. This figure is from 21st to 27th December 2021. Kolkata's positivity rate had touched 5 per cent in the past few days. Recently, the Health Department also held a high-level meeting in view of the coming cases of Omicron. This included representatives of private hospitals as well as officials from the health department.

Hospitals have been instructed to repair infrastructure. Meanwhile, hospitals have been instructed to increase basic amenities. The number of corona infections in West Bengal has increased to 752. On Tuesday, 382 people were found infected with a corona in Kolkata, while two died.
