14 days quarantine for those coming from Africa to Mumbai

Mumbai: Passengers coming to Mumbai from South Africa have been agreed to stay in quarantine for 14 days. All of them will have a corona test every 48 hours. It is said that if a single patient of the Omicron variant is found in any building in Mumbai, the entire building will be sealed.

In fact, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has taken this important decision. As soon as they get off the airport, passengers coming from South Africa will have to travel to the Quarantine Centre before going to their destination in Mumbai, ending the 14-day warranty period. It is also being said that the quarantine will be completely institutionalised. Corona tests will be conducted every 14 hours during the quarantine. In this case, if a corona infection is detected, it will be immediately sent to the corona centre and treated under the supervision of experts. This was informed by BMC Additional Commissioner Suresh Kakani.

On the other hand, the World Health Organization Advisory Committee says that this omicron variant of corona spreads much faster than the delta variant. Keeping this in view, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation has also kept its rules very strict. In such a case, if any person is found infected with the new variant of corona omicron in any building in Mumbai, the entire building will be sealed.
