PCB announces massive pay hike for Pakistan's domestic players

Karachi: According to the revised pay structure announced by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday, the country's top domestic cricketers can earn 32 lakh PKR (about 14 lakh Indian Rupees) from this game in one season. It has been said to include one and a half lakh PKR (about 66 thousand Indian rupees) monthly retainer. Recently, the board has announced a new salary structure before the session starting on 30 September. It has been said that the domestic players are going to earn at least seven per cent more than in the 2019-20 season.

PCB has issued a statement on Tuesday. In this statement, PCB has said, "Top domestic cricketers can earn a maximum of 32 lakh PKR, which is 83 per cent more than the previous season. The minimum earnings of these players will be 18 lakh PKR (Pakistani rupee), which will be seven per cent more than the previous season. Apart from this, the board also said, "Players coming in the A-Plus category will get a monthly salary of 1.5 lakh PKR for 12 months. Players will also get 40,000 PKR per match for the National T20 Cup and Pakistan Cup, while for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy they will get 60,000 PKR per match".

The board has also said that the monthly salary of each category of players are different, but everyone will get the same match fees. In the new list of PCB, there are 10 players in a plus category, who will get one and a half lakh PKR monthly retainers.

Apart from this, 38 players of A class will get 85,000 PKR (about 37 thousand rupees), while 48 players of B class will get 75,000 PKR (about 33 thousand rupees). The maximum 72 players are in the C category, who get 65,000 PKR (about 28 thousand rupees), while the 24 players of the D category are going to get a monthly salary of 40,000 PKR (about 17.5 thousand rupees).
