Pakistani Cricketer Umar Akmal banned from three matches.
Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board's inquiry committee has found the Pakistani batsman Umar Akmal guilty of a violation of the Code of Conduct and thus recommends for the ban and penalty for three matches on Akmal.
An official of the Pakistan Cricket Board told PTI (on condition of privacy) that the inquiry committee headed by Cricket Director Haroon Rashid has recommended the three-match ban on Umar. Simultaneously, he is also suggested not to issue No Objection Certificate for playing in any of the foreign leagues for a certain period of time.
The official said 'After the committee interrogation and questions asked by Umar and others, the batsman was found guilty of violating the three rules and he has forwarded his recommendations to PCB chairman Najam Sethi for further action.'
The 27-year-old Umar had an altercation with Former Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur over his practice session at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore last month.
The right-handed batsman Umar Akmal made his ODI debut on 1 August 2009 against Sri Lanka and made his Test debut against New Zealand on 23 November 2009. Umar represented Pakistan in the 2008 U/19 Cricket World Cup in Malaysia.
