Tibet: The exiled Tibetan government (central Tibetan administration) has found its new PM. Briefing reporters online on Friday (May 14th), Chief Election Commissioner Bangdu Tsering said, Penpa Tsering has won the prime ministership of the Tibetan administration by more than 3 lakh votes. There was a tough contest between Penpa Tsering and Kelsang Dorje for the POST of PM. Penpa Tsering got a total of 3,43,324 votes, while Kelsang Dorje got 28,907 votes. Voting was held in two phases. Four persons were in the fray during the first phase of voting, but two of them were knocked out due to low votes while in the second phase, Penpa Tsering and Kelsang Dorje clashed with each other. Penpa Tsering has also served as president twice in the exiled Tibet Parliament. He has also served as a representative of The Dalai Lama, a Buddhist cleric in the US. He had contested for the POST of PM last time too in which he finished second. He is also the speaker of the tibetan government in exile. Kelsang Dorje has held a key position in the exiled Tibetan government. He is considered close to PM Lobsang Sangye.
