New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday said that the protocol issued to prevent corona infection should be followed more strictly by those who have the responsibility of implementing it. The officers/departments implementing the corona protocol should set an example in the society by strictly following it. Justice Yashwant Verma has said that it is necessary that everyone, including those who are responsible for maintaining law and order, follow the corona protocol at all times. He said this while hearing a petition filed by a lawyer. In the petition, the Delhi Police for allegedly violating the guidelines issued to prevent corona infection and not ensuring compliance of (corona) safety rules in the society even after several orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). Necessary action has been demanded against the officers on duty. The petitioner told the court that on August 9, 2021 morning, two policemen posted at Sadar Bazar police station were patrolling on government bikes without wearing masks and helmets. Along with this, he said that these police personnel not only misbehaved with them but also their relatives and abused them. In the matter, Delhi Police told the court that the incident was investigated and both the police personnel have also been warned.
