NEW DELHI: Petrol prices in the domestic market have seen a decline for the third consecutive day. Petrol became cheaper by 7 paise a litre on Saturday after a drop of 11 paise a litre on Friday. On the other hand, diesel prices did not change for the fourth consecutive day. Earlier on Friday, Delhi witnessed a fall in the price of petrol by 11 paise. The price of petrol in Delhi on Saturday morning is Rs 72.62 per litre. The diesel remains at the Rs 66.00 level. On Saturday, petrol prices in Kolkata, Mumbai were cheaper by 7 paise and 8 paise a litre in Chennai. Petrol prices in Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai were priced at Rs 75.30, Rs 78.27 and Rs 75.45 per litre respectively. However, there was no change in diesel prices, so the old level remained unchanged at Rs 68.19, Rs 69.17 and Rs 69.72 per litre, respectively. On July 1, 2019, petrol prices in Delhi stood at Rs 70.44 and diesel at Rs 64.27 a litre. The General Budget presented on 5th of July imposed excise duty and Cess on petrol and diesel. The prices of the two had since rose. Internationally, WTI crude reached $55.86 a barrel and Brent crude at $61.89 a barrel.
