New Delhi: On Saturday, February 2, 2019, Petrol, diesel prices fell again, in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata after the Budget 2019-20 presentation in the Lok Sabha in which government announced relief package for farmers, pensioners, complete income tax rebate for those earning up to Rs 5 lakh, increasing threshold of TDS deduction on term deposits in banks and post offices. Petrol and diesel prices have been continuously falling for the last couple of days. Whereas, Petrol prices in Delhi were slashed by 10 paise to Rs 70.84 per litre from Rs 70.94 per litre on Saturday. In Mumbai, a litre of petrol was retailing at Rs 76.47 on Saturday vs Rs 76.57 on Friday. In Chennai and Kolkata, petrol prices were also cut by 10 paise each. Petrol prices in Kolkata came down to Rs 72.94 per litre from Rs 73.04 per litre whereas petrol prices in Chennai were dropped to Rs 73.54 a litre on Saturday from Rs 73.64 per litre on Friday. Diesel in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai is retailing at Rs 65.71, Rs 68.81, Rs 67.49 and Rs 69.41 on Saturday.
