Relief to common man, no change in the price of petrol-diesel today

New Delhi: Oil companies have not made any changes on Sunday after petrol and diesel prices were cut on Saturday. But after the recent fall in crude oil, petrol and diesel prices are likely to fall further. Crude oil prices have been declining by 14 per cent in the month of September so far.

Petrol-diesel prices might fall drastically as crude oil becomes 6% cheaper

In the global market last week, benchmark crude oil Brent crude closed below 40 dollars a barrel. And U.S. crude WTI also stayed at 37 dollars a barrel. Crude oil prices have softened by more than six dollars a barrel during the last nearly two weeks. Experts point out that the price of crude oil during the last two weeks is likely to reduce the price of petrol and diesel, but more cuts can be expected only when crude oil continues to soften.

According to Indian Oil's website, petrol prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai are priced at Rs 81.86, Rs 83.36, Rs 88.51 and Rs 84.85 per litre respectively without any change. Diesel prices also stand at Rs 72.93, Rs 76.43, Rs 79.45 and Rs 78.26 per litre in all the four metros respectively.
