Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte arrived at Beijing with high hopes along with his 200 Business leaders in order to secure advantageous trade and investment deals. At his state visit the president voiced his hopes for the good relationship between the China and Philippine but at the same time landed himself in a disputed situation and become a diplomatic embarrassment for the Philippines as he stated the country’s Military and Economic ‘separation’ from US. In Beijing on Tuesday Rodrigo told the audience- “America has lost now. I've realigned myself in your ideological flow”. Although he didn’t provide details about how he’s going to break the historical Diplomatic, military and financial ties between the two countries. However arriving back to his hometown Davao, President said that by ‘separation’ he didn’t mean to cut the ties with US. "When you say severance of ties, you cut diplomatic relations. I cannot do that. Why? It's in the best interest of my country that we maintain that relationship," he said. According to him Philippines will not embrace the separation from US and his remarks in China come under Philippines foreign policy and are closely leaned towards US.
