NEW DELHI: After PM Modi announced a plastic ban on August 15, all the ministries in the government have started taking steps in this direction. After the Railways, Air India has also joined the link. Air India chief Ashwani Lohani said that his company is going to ban the use of plastic in the airline completely from October 2nd. Lohani also made a statement on the halt of fuel supply. He says it will be resolved soon. Air India owes over Rs 4500 crore to three oil companies, which the airline has not repaid for the last seven months. The three oil companies had stopped supplying fuel at six airports in the country. Earlier, in this context, the Chairman of Air India has said that the supply of oil to the company has been stopped due to shortage of funds. But this has not affected the services of the company. On Pakistan's decision to partially shut down Karachi airspace by August 31, Ashwani Lohani said that the company had suffered a loss of four crore rupees a day when it was earlier done by Pakistan. However, Lohani has refused to comment on the current situation. But this month, Air India had said that it would not make any difference to the company.
