PM Modi brother's car accident case: Driver arrested in Karnataka

MYSURU: Officials said on December 31, that  Karnataka police have arrested a car driver in connection with the accident in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi's brother and his family members sustained injuries.

The First Information Report has been registered in Mysuru Rural police station against N. Satyanarayana. The convoy staff S. Mahadeva had registered a complaint on this matter. He had said in the complaint that overspeeding and negligent driving by the accused driver resulted in the accident.

On December 27, PM Modi's brother Prahlad Damodar Das Modi, and his family members were injured after the car in which they traveled met with an accident near Kadakola village in Mysuru district.

The incident had happened when Prahlad Modi and his family were driving a Mercedes Benz in the direction of the popular tourist destination Bandipur. As per reports, the incident took place when the car's driver lost control and slammed into a road divider.

Prahlad Modi, who is 70 years old, was injured on his chin. His son Mehul Prahlad Modi (40), daughter-in-law Jinal Modi and 6-year-old grandson Menat Mehul Modi were also injured in the accident.

The police investigations have found that the accident had taken place due to Satyanarayana's negligence.
